After many years I finally managed to play (and finish) Persona 5, the Royal version, it took 10 weeks.
The game was very good and enjoyable, the art style (especially some menu and interface), the soundtrack, the voice actors, were fantastic.
Many say that Persona 5 is the best jrpg ever, and I disagree, for me it doesn't even enter the top five, despite this i think he has the best party ever, all the guys of the Phantom Thieves are great characters.
For me the weak points of the game are: the repetitive battle system (Nocturne used the same mechanics way better), the fact the protagonist is a mute avatar (i hate this thing) and too many days dedicated to the slice of life part of the game.
The fact that there is so much time in the game dedicated to bonding with the secondary characters certainly helps in giving them and making them more interesting.
On the other hand, it dilutes the action too much, and the main story become a very small part of the gameplay losing hype.
Also the game starts very strong, the first theft of the phantom thieves is the one with the most engaging story, the subsequent thefts fail to achieve the same interest.
The final arc of the vanilla version of the game was too anime for my liking and not very satisfying, I enjoyed the Royal content much more.
Basically a great game with a stellar cast (except Joker) but I regret the times when the jrpg were 30-40 hours long and the story continued like a running train without dwelling on too many secondary things.
