SaGa Frontier Heroes

SaGa Frontier was a blast, before buying the game I researched this particular game and knew of its experimental nature but despite having already played a title in the Romancing series I didn't know what to expect.

From a storytelling and design point of view this game is a mess, some of the storylines have been cut, the stories jump from one event to another without the necessary involvement, every characters repeat the secondary quests over and over.

From the point of view of gameplay, this game is one of the most satisfying and engaging jrpg I've ever played, the possibility of creating your own team at each gameplay, the variety of characters and final bosses ... how much satisfaction when after the right training you manage to overcome the boss who had destroyed you before.

The great art style and gameplay overcome the narrative lacks and make SaGa Frontier one of my favorite classics.

I really enjoyed the additions of the remaster version, both the New Game + (essential) and the Fuse cases (super fun).
My most used characters was Cotton (I recruited him in almost all gameplays) while my favorite story is Emilia's, it looks like the plot of an 80's Schwarzenegger film; and: Lise, Annie and Roufas are greats.

Modern Squarenix game sucks, but the squaresoft classics are truly gems.
